About NBS
Thank you for taking the time to consider NBS Therapeutic Solutions. I'm Steve Manza, a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and trained in EMDR by the Trauma Institute.

I built my practice as a means of bringing my experience to help patients address a spectrum of issues, including trauma/PTSD, addiction, juvenile delinquency, family therapy, codependency, anxiety, and depression. I thrive on cultivating a compassionate and practical approach tailored to individual needs, facilitating a path to healing.
I’ve spent the last 15 years working with incarcerated youth and their families in residential facilities, providing care and support with compassion and understanding. Over time, I’ve built a strong skill set that allows me to connect with people who are skeptical about therapy or don’t think it’s for them. My therapeutic approach is direct, non-judgmental, and focused on practical healing.
As a trained practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I utilize this highly effective method for treating trauma and PTSD, often achieving results in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy. Additionally, as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and someone in long-term recovery, I am well-equipped to support individuals on their journey to lasting sobriety.

Talk Therapy
I use a variety of evidence-based techniques—including CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing—to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.
Consulting
Drawing on years of experience across various treatment settings—including inpatient and outpatient programs—I offer guidance to help improve existing services or assist in developing new programs.
Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Proven to be one of the quickest and most effective techniques to reduce
trauma and PTSD symptoms.
Training
I offer in‑person or virtual training on a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to) addiction, codependency, working with troubled teenagers, and serving traumatized populations. MCBAP CEUs and Social Work CEUs are also available.
Comprehensive Assessment Services
Comprehensive psychosocial and behavioral assessments are available to support decision-making in complex or challenging therapeutic cases. This includes court-ordered substance use assessments and evaluations.

I don't have insurance or you are out of network, can I still see you?Of course! We can discuss a per-session rate prior to your first session. If you need a sliding scale rate, that is available and based on yearly household income.

Do you accept insurance?Yes, I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network (BCN), Health Alliance Plan (HAP), Priority Health, United Health Care, Tricare and Aetna.

My child is going to see you, will I have the ability to see you as well?Yes, you can see me as well. Generally, parent involvement is an important part of a child's therapy.

If I pay out of pocket, can I still have something to take to my insurance?I can provide a superbill for each session which can be taken to your specific insurance for reimbursement, although I cannot guarantee reimbursement. It is best to check with your insurance first to determine if you have out of network coverage for psychotherapy.
